Nick van Dam is a consultant, author, speaker and researcher on corporate learning and leadership development. With a keen interest in organizational learning, he specializes in corporate learning strategy and innovation, designing corporate academies, digital learning opportunities, inspiring social learning and driving change management.
In his work at McKinsey, he leads learning and leadership development. In this capacity, he shapes the firm’s global learning agenda, delivers learning curricula for pivotal roles and ensures the application of leading-edge learning approaches, including digital learning and extending the firm’s external reach, relevance and client impact. Prior to joining McKinsey in 2013, Nick was a senior executive at Deloitte for 19 years.
As a visiting lecturer and advisory board member at the University of Pennsylvania, he works with candidates in the executive doctoral program for future chief learning officers. He is also a board member of ICEDR, an international consortium that promotes research and dialogue on global talent management, leadership development, and strategic change, and the founder and chairman of e-Learning for Kids, a global non-profit foundation that offers digital lessons for underprivileged elementary children. Since 2005, more than 15 million children have benefitted from this free service.
In 2012, Nick received a Lifetime Learning Leadership Award from the MASIE Center, a think tank focused on workforce education and performance. The European Parliament Federal Ministry of Education and Research also granted him the Leonardo European Corporate Learning Award in 2013, in recognition of his efforts to direct the future of organizational learning and leadership development.
He is a full professor of Corporate Learning & Development at Nyenrode Business Universiteit and a visiting professor and advisory board member at the University of Pennsylvania, where works with candidates in the executive doctoral program for future chief learning officers. He is also a board member of ICEDR, an international consortium that promotes research and dialogue on global talent management, leadership development, and strategic change.
